ayurveda “the science of life.”
Ayurveda and Yoga are considered “sister sciences” which when combined, teach us how to optimize our well-being. Both place emphasis on prevention and balance. Ayurveda looks at the overall picture of your health, helping to discover imbalances in thinking, diet, routine, and lifestyle.
It is the wisdom of Ayurveda coupled with the transformational practice of Yoga that helps us tap into our innate desire to thrive and heal. By looking at “the whole picture,” we can facilitate sustainable progress.
Depending on one’s current state, the following practices would be considered:
daily routine balance
The entire cosmos as an interplay between the five elements of Ether, Air, Water, Fire, and Earth.
ayurvedic body types
Vata, Pitta, and Kapha are the resulting combinations of these five elements that manifest as patterns in all of creation.
ether and air
The subtle energy of movement
fire and water
The energy of digestion and metabolism
earth and water
The energy that forms the body’s structure
Your individual nature is unique, therefore you should be treated according to your unique composition. Each person has a particular pattern of physical, mental, and emotional characteristics which comprises their constitution. This is determined at conception and remains the same throughout life. As we are nurtured and experience life, we encounter factors that can disturb our balance. Once these imbalances are discovered, the goal is to return to balance. Health is balance.
To begin our work together in Ayurveda, we would schedule a consultation to determine your unique constitution and any imbalances that you are currently experiencing. From there, certain lifestyle adjustments in diet, routine, and self-care would be suggested to start the journey back to balance.
